No matter if your children play with their toys daily, at home or at the park, it’s essential that they remain clean. Here are a few simple tricks for keeping their items sanitized:
1. Apply a disinfecting wipe or alcohol wipe on hard plastic and bath toys to eliminate germs.
2. Wash toys weekly (or every other week) if they are played with daily or slept with, or spot-clean non-washable plush toys as needed.
3. For toys that are not absorbent, disinfect them using a chlorine bleach solution of one tablespoon bleach per gallon of water. Leave to soak for several minutes before wiping off with cloths or disposable paper towels and air drying.
Wooden toys can benefit from a hydrogen peroxide solution to keep them sanitized without bleaching out their paint colors. Simply spray onto the surface, let sit for 10 minutes, and then wipe clean with either cloth or disposable paper towels.
